Miscreants Loot PNB Branch in Balasore District

Balasore: Punjab National Bank’s (PNB) branch located at Daruha under Kamardha police station limits in Balasore district was allegedly targeted by some unidentified miscreants on Sunday night.

According to police sources, the miscreants used a gas cutter to break the locks and the shutter of the PNB branch and entered into its premises. They covered the CCTV installed near the main gate of the branch with a cardboard box to avoid being caught on camera.

Although the bank officials have lodged a complaint regarding this loot with the police, they have not revealed the amount of valuables and cash stolen by the miscreants.

A team led by Jaleswar SDPO and Kamardha police station IIC is at the spot for investigation.

Earlier a branch of the United Bank operated on the same premises and in 2007 it had faced a broad daylight robbery.
