Armed Miscreants Loot Rs 9.26 Lakh from Utkal Gramin Bank in Bargarh Dist

Bargarh: Two unidentified armed miscreants looted Rs 9.26 lakh cash at gunpoint from the Barpali Regional Utkal Gramin Bank in Bargarh district on Thursday afternoon.

At around 3 pm on Thursday, two armed robbers lifted the half-down shutter of the bank to enter its premises. They threatened the two cashiers in the bank at gunpoint and forced them to hand over the cash in the locker. At that time, there were no other customers, staff or security at the bank.

The two cashiers – Mamata Bhoi and Chandan Sahu – were eating their lunch inside the bank while the manager had gone out to have his lunch.

Taking advantage of the situation, the armed miscreants looted the cash and escaped from the spot.

Later on, the manager of the bank informed the local police about the loot. Police are yet to track down the culprits.
