Armed Robbers Loot Bank in Bihar Holding Bank Officials Hostage at Gunpoint

Patna: Six armed robbers looted around Rs 90 lakh from a branch of Axis Bank in Bihar’s Araria on Tuesday after holding bank officials and customers hostage at gunpoint.

The incident occurred at the bank branch at the ADB Chowk in Araria town.

After entering the bank premises, the armed dacoits fired two rounds to terrorise the bank officials and customers. They gathered everyone present inside, including bank employees and customers, at gunpoint and locked them inside the strong room. Then the armed miscreants grabbed the money that was available inside and escaped.

According to reports, the robbers managed to escape with around Rs 90 lakh worth of cash.

The police rushed to the spot after getting information about the incident. The miscreants reached the bank on three bikes and conducted the robbery in 15 to 20 minutes.
