Police Rescues Youth Kidnapped for ₹ 40 Lakh; 1 Arrested

Balasore: The police have rescued a youth who was kidnapped for a ramson of ₹ 40 Lakh in Odisha’s Balasore district. The cops have also arrested the accused.

The victim was identified as Sibananda Patra, a resident of the Chandaneswar area of the town. The accused was identified as Suman Dey.

According to reports, Suman Dey kidnapped Sibananda for a ramson of Rs 40 Lakh. The victim was rescued by the police from the station chakk area of the town. The cops also arrested the accused on the spot.

Reportedly, the contractor’s wife Nirabala had even paid Rs 5 lakh to the abductor and also handed cheques for the remaining amount.

The police have filed an FIR against Suman Dey at Talsari police station.
