Producer of ‘Kabali’ Movie Arrested for Drug Peddling, Rs 78 Lakh Worth Cocaine Seized

Hyderabad: SKP Chowdary, the producer of Rajanikanth starrer blockbuster ‘Kabali’ was arrested by Cyberabad Police for peddling drugs. Cocaine worth Rs 78.5 lakh packed in over 90 sachets was seized from his possession. The total seized cocaine was around 82.75 grams.

Police said the accused, hailing from Telangana’s Khammam district had set up a club in Goa and used to consume and peddle drugs there.

He returned to Hyderabad in April 2023. During his return, he procured 100 sachets of cocaine from a Nigerian national named Petit Ebuzer in Goa.

According to police sources, Chowdary consumed 10 sachets of cocaine and was planning to sell the rest to his friends.

Based on a tip-off, police from Madhapur intercepted him while he was trying to sell the cocaine on Kismathpur Road under the limits of Rajendranagar Police Station. Apart from the 90 sachets of cocaine, police also seized Rs 2,05,000 cash, four mobile phones, and a four-wheeler from his possession.

He was booked under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.
