Punjabi Singer Shubh Faces Backlash for Supporting Khalistan, Virat Kohli ‘Unfollows’ Him

New Delhi: Amid the recent India-Canada face-off centering to a killed Khalisthani separatist, a Canada-based singer Subh faces criticism ahead of his concert in Mumbai because of his alleged support for Khalistanis.

Members of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) have alleged that the singer supports separatist Khalistani elements.

Shubh is scheduled to perform in Mumbai and several other cities of India starting from September 23. Ahead of the show, the BJYM activists tore down Shubh’s posters.

In the past, Shubh posted a picture on social media appealing to pray for Punjab. The picture in his post showed a distorted map of India, omitting Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir. Now this post has also gone viral, leaving all disappointed. As reported by Hindustan Times, this viral post was shared by Shubh when the Punjab Police was hunting Khalistani sympathiser Amritpal Singh. The BJYM also demanded the cancellation of Shubh’s shows in India.

As reported by Hindustan Times, Virat Kohli, who was seen grooving to one of Shubh’s songs in a viral video, has unfollowed the singer. Other Big Indian cricketers like KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya have also unfollowed Shubh on social media.
