Ragging Allegation in VSSUT Burla, 2nd-Year Student Thrashed by Seniors

Sambalpur: A second-year student of Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT), Burla was allegedly ragged by seniors. The seniors allegedly thrashed the victim inside the hostel of the institution, last night.

The victim, Anubhav Khamari lodged a complaint related to ragging at Burla police Station.

According to sources, the VC of the university has assured that strict action will be initiated after proper enquiry.

“I went to the ground floor of the hostel last night, during which 15-16 senior students intercepted me. They held my collar near the stairs, abused me, and thrashed me. I sustained injuries in the attack,” said Anubhav, a student of the Electronics and Telecommunication department of VSSUT.

A case was registered and police investigation is underway.
