Rahul Gandhi is making Opposition Weak; Feels Mamata Banerjee

Kolakata: Bengal Chief Minister and TMC chief Mamata Banerjee has attacked Congress’s Rahul Gandhi harshly at an internal meeting of the party, reported NDTV. If Rahul Gandhi is the face of the Opposition, then “nobody will be able to target Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” sources quoted her as saying.

Quoting sources NDTV reported that Mamata told her party workers that Rahul Gandhi is PM Modi’s “biggest TRP”. According to her, the BJP is not letting Parliament function as they want Rahul Gandhi to “be the leader… The BJP is keen on making Rahul Gandhi a hero.”

“It is the Congress that bows before the BJP. Congress, CPM and BJP are instigating minorities against the Trinamool,” she told party workers in Murshidabad on Sunday during her virtual address from Kolkata.

Earlier, Trinamool MP and the party’s Leader in the Lok Sabha Sudip Bandopadhyay had said the BJP benefits from Rahul Gandhi being the face of the Opposition.

Mamata Banerjee is trying to form an opposition front without the Congress. She has already met SP’s Akhilesh Yadav regarding it. She is expected to meet BJD’s Naveen Patnaik to carry on her plans ahead of coming Lok sabha polls next year.
