Step-Mother Kills 2-Yr-Old Child & Hangs Self in Cuttack

Cuttack: The body of a married woman was found hanging in her home at Sriram Nagar area under Madhupatna police station in Odisha’s Cuttack on Monday. The body of her two-year-old stepson was also found inside the house.

The throat of the boy was slit open by some sharp weapon.

Initial evidence hint that the woman may have committed suicide after killing her stepson. But the suspicion of foul play by someone else cannot be ruled out. Detail investigation will reveal the truth, police officials said.

Locals suspect this sad incident could be the fallout of a marital tussle between the woman and her husband.

The husband of the deceased woman serves in a private company at Salepur.

He had married this woman around a year back. Her in-laws alleged that she always quarreled with them and did not take care of her husband and stepson.

But the parents of the deceased woman have alleged that she was being tortured by her husband.
