SUV Rams Scooter from Behind Killing Elderly Couple in Deogarh District

Deogarh: An elderly couple was killed in a road accident on NH49 near Bomparda village under Barkote police station limits in Deogarh district on Wednesday.

The scooter on which the couple was travelling was hit from behind by an SUV. The deceased were identified as Hrudananda Behera (70) and his wife Ratani Behera (65).

Both were rushed to the Barkote Community Health Centre (CHC), where doctors declared them dead.

Police have detained the driver of the accident-causing SUV for investigation.
