Tiger Panic in Koraput After Bull Gets Killed Mysteriously

Koraput: A bull was killed by some mysterious animal attack in Koraput. Following it, villagers of Pedawalada Jhankarkarli under Bandugaon of Koraput district are in a panic. They fear a tiger may be roaming in their area.

According to villagers, a tiger allegedly killed the domestic bull of a man residing in the village.

After receiving the information, a team from the forest department reached the village to find out the truth behind the claims.

Preliminary investigation of the forest officials has increased suspicion that the pugmarks of the attacking animal could be that of a leopard or tiger. The officials are carrying out the further probe for confirmation.

“The report is completely authentic. The bull was attacked from behind and was killed. We have made arrangements for compensation. We suspect the killer to be a leopard. We will let you know after obtaining any image,” said Akshay Kumar Padhi, Ranger, Narayanpatna.

“The forest department is on high alert to ensure the protection of livestock, humans as well as the tiger if any,” Padhi stated.

An official confirmation regarding the spotting of the tiger is still awaited.
