TMC MP & Former Goa CM Resigns from Rajya Sabha and Party

New Delhi: Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha MP and former Goa Chief Minister Luizinho Faleiro resigned from the Upper House of Parliament and from the party as well on Tuesday. His resignation coincides with the TMC losing national party recognition a day back.

Faleiro is a seven-term MLA from Goa’s Navelim. He was elected to the Rajya Sabha on a TMC ticket from Bengal ahead of the Goa assembly elections in 2022.

But the TMC leadership was not happy with him and as per reports he was being pressed to resign from the Rajya Sabha. In January 2022, Faleiro played down rumours of him quitting the TMC. But he was sidelined by the Trinamool leadership from the party’s affairs in Goa.
