Two Boys Marry Each Other to Appease Rain God for Good Rainfall in Karnataka

Bengaluru: As part of traditional belief, two boys married each other in Gangenahalli Village of Karnataka’s Mandya district to appease the rain god for good rainfall this year.

This unique marriage ceremony was organized by the villagers Friday night. A mass feast followed the marriage ceremony.

Inhabitants of Gangenahalli Village in Krishnarajpet Taluka of Mandya district resorted to this ritual as the region has received less rainfall this year in comparison to previous years.

The two selected boys were dressed in the traditional attire of the bride and groom for the marriage ceremony.

In Odisha, marriage ceremonies of frogs are held in rural areas in a similar manner to appease the rain god for rains.
