Two Workers Die in Nayagarh Rice Mill When Rice Sacks fall on them

Nayagarh: Pile of rice sacks crushed two workers of a rice mill to death at a rice mill in Odagaon police station area of Nayagarh district in Odisha on Monday morning.

The deceased were Rameshwar Dihudi of Tarsingh area of Ganjam district and Pramod Maharana of Badamba area.

According to sources, both these workers were checking the rice stock inside the godown of the rice mill when the mishap occurred. A beam of the godown is said to have fallen. Due to it, several bags of rice piled up over these two workers.

The seriously injured workers were rescued and transported to the Odagaon Community Health Centre (CHC), where both were declared dead by the doctors.

Police have started an investigation into the incident.
