Hockey World Cup 2023: India Vrs England Match Ends in Goalless Draw

Rourkela: Although it was a thrilling match, the Group D fight between the host India and England in the FIH Odisha Men’s Hockey World Cup 2023 at Birsa Munda stadium in Rourkela on Sunday resulted in a goalless draw.

In the first quarter of this high-voltage match, neither India nor England could score a goal. England got more opportunities but was unable to encash them.

In the second quarter, India bettered its show. But missed a lot of chances to hit the goal.

India renewed its attack in the third quarter, but no goals could be achieved.

England’s superb attacks in the fourth quarter were skillfully thwarted by the Indian defenders.
India had defeated Spain 2-0 in the opening match. Amit Rohidas and Hardik Singh scored goals in this match.
