Cuttack Students to Get Half-Day Off To Enjoy Hockey World Cup Inauguration Ceremony

Cuttack: All government and private educational institutions in Cuttack district will suspend their classes after 2 pm on Wednesday to enable students to watch the opening ceremony of the FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup 2023. Cuttack district administration made this order on Tuesday.

Barabati Stadium in the Millennium City is the venue of the opening ceremony of the 15th Hockey Men’s World Cup.

Cuttack collector Bhabani Shankar Chayani made a declaration about the closure of all educational institutions in the district after 2 pm tomorrow.

Matches of the Hockey World Cup will begin on January 13. They will be played at Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar and Birsa Munda Stadium in Rourkela. The tournament will continue till January 29, 2023.

The star-studded Hockey World Cup opening ceremony will have live performances by Bollywood stars like Ranveer Singh and Disha Patani. BLACKSWAN, the famous K-Pop band featuring Odisha’s Shreya Lenka will also perform during the ceremony.
