Villagers Spend Rs 1 Cr to Renovate Ancient Jamadagni Temple

Shimla: Inhabitants of five villages in Himachal Pradesh collected Rs 1 crore as donations to renovate the ancient Jamadagni temple in their area.

This ancient temple related to the saint Jamadagni of the Vedic era is located in Kullu valley. Sage Jamadagni was the father of Parshuram, the sixth avatar of Lord Vishnu.

The recent temple at the spot is around two centuries old. It had started to get dilapidated. So, local inhabitants of 5 villages in the area decided to collect money to renovate the ancient temple.

Astonishingly these villagers managed to raise a massive sum of Rs 1 crore within a short period of time. Spending this money, they gave a new life to the old temple.

People of the area believe sage Jamadagni looks after the well-being of villages and their inhabitants of the area.
