Women can be Topless like Men in Berlin Public Pools

The new bathing rule in Germany’s capital Berlin has allowed women to enter public pools topless, like men. This new rule came up when a woman, who was barred from entering a public pool topless, filed a discrimination complaint.

Now Berlin administration has permitted everyone to enter public swimming pools topless, irrespective of their gender.

According to German media, this decision was taken because of a legal battle by a woman. This German woman was asked to get out of a swimming pool in Berlin as she was sunbathing topless near the pool. She preferred to approach the court of law on the grounds of gender discrimination.

The woman reached the senate’s office alleging unequal treatment of males and females. She pressed that women, like men, should have the right of choice to go topless, or with torsos covered, whatever they should choose.

German Authorities acknowledged the discrimination allegation and came up with the decision that all visitors irrespective of their gender should be entitled to enter pools topless. In a press release, the Berlin Baederbetriebe, which operates the city’s public pools, announced its latest clothing rules. It may be noted that Germany has a relaxed attitude to nudity for all genders.
