11 Candidates to Contest Padampur By-election

Bhubaneswar: Nomination papers of two independent candidates for Padampur by-election were rejected during the scrutiny process today. So, 11 candidates are in the fray for the by-poll to the Padampur assembly constituency.

The two independent candidates, whose nomination papers were rejected, were Debendra Sunani and Jayant Panda.

According to the notification of the Returning Officer, the candidature of 11 candidates have been found to be valid. They include candidates of BJD, BJP, and Congress as well as 8 independents.

By-election is being held in Padampur following the demise of the sitting  MLA Bijaya Singh Bariha.
