WATCH: Giant 12ft Python Rescued After Gulping Down Goat in Odisha’s Berhampur

Berhampur: With monsoons lashing India, there’s a surge in snake sightings, and wildlife officials are kept busy with rescues. In a recent incident, the Berhampur Forest Division successfully rescued a colossal python exceeding 12 feet in length.

Susanta Nanda, an officer with the Indian Forest Service (IFS), shared a video of the rescue on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). The massive snake had reportedly devoured a goat, rendering it immobile. The Berhampur Forest Division team swiftly intervened and safely extracted the python before releasing it back into its natural habitat within the Khalikote Range forests.

The IFS officer lauded the Berhampur Forest Division for their skillful rescue and release in the caption accompanying the video. It stated, “A huge python of more than 12 feet was rescued from the villa after it had swallowed a goat and was safely released in Forests of Khalikote Range, Berhampur Division. Sincere appreciation for the team Berhampur.”
