27 Bonded Labourers Rescued In Patnagarh, Two Middlemen Nabbed

Bolangir: As many as 27 labourers were rescued by the police in Patnagarh of Bolangir district on Sunday and detained two middlemen in this connection.

According to reports, the workers are from Bagalabandh village in Bolangir district and were about to be transported to a neighbouring state to work in brick kilns.

The rescued workers said that they were promised high wages at the work site.

Acting on a tip-off, the cops conducted a raid while the labourers were being allegedly trafficked to Hyderabad.

The police have also detained two middlemen in this regard. Further investigations are on.
