Halloween Events, K-Pop Show Cancelled In Seoul After Heart-Wrenching Tragedy

Seoul: In wake of the tragic Itaewon stampede that killed at least 151 people in the South Korean capital Seoul, most festivals, events and parades have been cancelled.

Even the Everland theme park will not turn spooky this Halloween as the theme park has closed all festivals till November 20.

Lotte World, another theme park located in southeastern Seoul, has also scrapped its Halloween-themed events.

A K-pop event which was slated to be held tonight has also been cancelled.

On Saturday night, over 150 people, mostly in their 20s, were killed and over 150 injured at a packed Halloween event in Itaewon, a chic party hub.

This year’s Halloween event was the first since the pandemic started in 2020 at which South Koreans have not been mandated to wear face masks outdoors.
