3 Women Arrested for Assaulting Anganwadi Worker in Odisha’s Balasore

Balasore: Police arrested three women on Sunday for allegedly assaulting an Anganwadi worker in Odisha’s Balasore district.

The victim, identified as Urmila Samal from Mahapada village under Singla police limits, was reportedly tied to a tree and beaten by a group of women on September 19.

Six more women involved in the incident are currently absconding, but authorities expect to apprehend them soon. The motive behind the attack remains unclear, but Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida has intervened, instructing both the police and district administration to take swift action.

Urmila is receiving treatment at the Balasore district headquarters hospital.
