Unidentified Assailants Disrupt Puri Ramleela with Crude Bomb Attack; 1 Critical

Puri: In an unfortunate incident during a Ramleela performance in Puri, Odisha, an unidentified assailant reportedly threw crude bombs at a man portraying the character of Lord Ram.

The victim, Sukant Pradhan (30), hailing from Sahanikera village, sustained critical injuries on his right hand when the bombs intended for Kirtan Pradhan, playing Lord Ram, struck him instead.

The incident occurred at the Bijay Nagar slum under Baliapanda police limits. Following the attack, Sukant was initially treated at Puri District Headquarters Hospital and later transferred to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar for further medical attention.

The organizers of the event promptly lodged a complaint with the police, who are actively investigating the matter to identify and apprehend the responsible party. Preliminary indications suggest a possible connection to a local dispute between two groups.
