Cops Bust Illegal Liquor Manufacturing Unit at Berhampur Bakery; Culprits Arrested

Berhampur: The Bada Bazaar Police successfully uncovered a counterfeit liquor production facility concealed within a bakery located in the Om Nagar area today. As a result, two brothers, namely Tarini Jena and Mantu Jena, have been apprehended and are currently under interrogation by the authorities.

The illicit manufacturing operation involved the use of caramel and spirit to produce adulterated liquor, which was then cleverly packaged with labels imitating popular brands. This deceptive tactic aimed to mislead consumers into believing they were purchasing genuine products, as per reports.

Taking swift action, the police sealed the bakery premises and confiscated a substantial amount of evidence. The seized items included 10 cartons of fake liquor, 10 sacks filled with liquor bottles, 3 cartons of caramel, and 6 cartons of spirit. Furthermore, the three auto-rickshaws employed for the transportation of the fake liquor to various areas of Ganjam district were also seized by the authorities.

It has been revealed that the two accused brothers had been operating this unlawful enterprise for a period of three years prior to their apprehension. Acting upon a credible tip-off, the police successfully conducted a raid, effectively dismantling the illicit unit.

The investigation into this case remains ongoing as the police continue to gather additional information and evidence related to the operation.
