Veteran Politician Anadi Charan Das, Former Jajpur MP, Passes Away at 88

Bhubaneswar: Former Lok Sabha Member, Anadi Charan Das, aged 88, passed away on Friday while receiving treatment at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar.

The veteran politician had been admitted to the hospital a few days ago due to complications arising from diabetes. His last rites will take place in his hometown of Bijipur in the Jajpur district.

Anadi Charan Das served as the Member of Parliament for the Jajpur Lok Sabha seat on five occasions. He was elected to the Lok Sabha from the Jajpur constituency in 1971, 1980, and 1984 as a member of the Congress party. Later, in 1989 and 1991, he was elected as a representative of the Janata Party.

Following the news of Anadi Charan Das’ demise, BJD Organizational Secretary and MLA Pranab Prakash Das expressed profound sorrow. Other notable figures, including OPCC President Sarat Patnaik, also conveyed their deep grief over the loss.
