Bali Yatra’s Spectacle Set To Be Extended By 2 Days

Cuttack: Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) has proposed to the state government to extend the duration of the trade-fest by two more days in view of the interest and enthusiasm of the people.

On Monday, after a special meeting of the CMC, the corporation has given this proposal to the government.  So, hopes are rife that the Bali Yatra may get extended for two more days.

A record number of spectators visited Bali Yatra on Sunday. More than 15 million people visited the fair on that weekly holiday. Even on Monday, about 5 lakh people were amassed in Cuttack to enjoy the Bali Yatra.

On Monday, the CMC Core Committee meeting was held in the special ‘Cuttack in Cuttack’ gallery inside Bali Yatra field. This meeting chaired by Mayor Subash Singh was attended by Deputy Mayor Damayanti Majhi, Commissioner Nikhil Pavan Kalyan, all the corporators, various committee members, and officers of the corporation. After discussing various issues, it was decided in the meeting to propose to the state government to extend Bali Yatra by two days.

The extension of the fest may bring a solution to the dissatisfaction of the traders regarding the increase in shop-rental fees this year.
