Commissionerate Police Launches 24/7 Helpline for Street Crime Prevention in Cuttack

Cuttack: Commissionerate Police-Cuttack has launched a new helpline aimed at curbing street crime in the city. The Street Crime Prevention and Detection Unit (SCPDU) of Cuttack Police will be available 24/7 to assist residents during emergencies.

The dedicated mobile helpline number, 7978894405, has been introduced for the Cuttack urban police district (UPD), complementing the existing Control Room Number 112. This initiative aims to address various street crimes, including anti-social activities, public consumption of alcohol, and incidents like snatching.

Residents of Cuttack can call or send WhatsApp messages regarding any street crime-related issues, which will be promptly received in the control room. Police promise to respond to callers within 15 minutes and ensure swift action, resolving complaints within 24 hours.

All calls made to the helpline will be monitored daily by Additional DCP-Crime Anil Mishra of Cuttack UPD. If a complaint remains unresolved after 24 hours, individuals have the option to directly contact the Additional DCP-Crime or DCP Cuttack for further assistance.
