Cuttack Cyber Police Arrest Fraudster for Swindling Over ₹59 Lakh From Job Seekers

Cuttack: Cuttack Cyber PS officials have arrested a fraudster from Balasore for allegedly swindling approximately Rs 59.25 lakh from job seekers under the guise of offering employment opportunities in reputed organizations such as East Coast Railway (ECoR) and Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL).

The suspect, identified as Santosh Mahuri, reportedly posed as a close associate of a Union minister and a former minister from Odisha during his fraudulent activities. This deceptive tactic was exposed when victims approached the cyber police, prompting a thorough investigation that led to Santosh’s arrest.

Authorities have confiscated a trove of fabricated identity cards, bank passbooks, and other crucial documents from the possession of the arrested fraudster.

Sources revealed that Santosh exploited the aspirations of job seekers by masquerading as a relative of two ministers. A comprehensive investigation is currently underway to delve deeper into the extent of the fraudulent activities.
