Death due to SELFIE! Man Burnt Alive Atop Goods Train in Rayagada

Rayagada: The young man was burnt alive after coming in contact with high-tension wire while taking a selfie on a goods-laden train in the Rayagada district.

Two other youths were seriously injured in the incident that took place at Bhalumaska railway station under Kalyansinghpur police station in Rayagada district.

Devendra Nayak and his friends from Kashipur block had gone to attend a feast in Bhalumaska village. At noon, Devendra and two of his associates were standing atop a goods train parked at The Bhalumaska railway station to take selfies.

At the time, the train started moving following which Devendra came in contact with a 25 KV electric wire and was charred to death.

Two of his companions were seriously injured.

The injured were admitted to the local hospital and later shifted to Rayagada district headquarters hospital as their health condition deteriorated.

Railway staff and railway police have reached the spot and started an investigation.
