Free Entry For Visitors Into Konark Sun Temple For Magha Saptami

Konark: On the occasion of Magha Saptami, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) provided free entry to the Konark Temple today.

On the occasion of the sacred Magha Saptami festival, tens of thousands of worshippers took a holy dip at the Chandrabhaga beach on Saturday morning.

According to custom, on the auspicious day, Lord Tribeniswara, Lord Aisaneswara, and Lord Dakhineswara—the presiding deities of Konark—were brought out in a great procession to the Tirtha Mandap in Chandrabhaga and were bathed at around 3.50 AM.

According to Puri SP K.Vishal, 30 police platoons were stationed in Konark to manage the gathering.

On the seventh day of the first part of the “Magha” month, pilgrims take a dip in the ocean in the steadfast conviction that doing so will cure them of skin conditions and wash their sins off.
