‘Future of Work’ Exhibition Under G20 Kicks Off in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated an exhibition on the future of work in Bhubaneswar on Sunday to highlight the necessity for obtaining new skills and knowledge due to the rapidly changing global environment.

The program was launched concurrently with the third Education Working Group meeting held at the CSIR-Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (IMMT), Bhubaneswar, Odisha, during the G20 presidency.

The exhibition will be on display through April 28.

Taking to Twitter, Pradhan said, “Inaugurating a special exhibition on #G20FutureofWork at @csirimmt, Bhubaneswar… I welcome you to a world of endless possibilities.”

According to a formal statement, it will serve as a distinctive forum for academia and technology experts to present their viewpoints and vision for the future of work.

NIT Rourkela, IIT Bhubaneswar, IIM Sambalpur, Meta, UNICEF, and NCERT are just a few of the institutions and organisations from various industries that took part in the exhibition to display technologies that would drive the future of work, ongoing innovations in the modern workplace, skills, and innovative delivery models.

Along with the show, a special “Future of Work” experience zone is put up.

At this experience zone, prospective employees will learn how the workplace of the future will change and receive a sneak peek at the advanced technical abilities needed, according to an official.

According to him, the area will demonstrate the usage of cutting-edge technology like holograms and interactive surface tables and walls, giving visitors a glimpse into the nature of work in the future.

They will be able to see how digitalisation and automation are changing the way we operate in various industries, he predicted.

Visitors to the show will see, among other things, industry 4.0 skills, drone technology, reverse engineering, and automated design solutions.
