IPL 2023: RCB Ride On Faf, Maxwell Fifties To Beat RR By 7 Runs

Bengaluru: In a thrilling encounter of the IPL 2023 on Sunday at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Royal Challengers Bangalore pacer Harshal Patel held his nerves to contain Rajasthan Royals inside the required 20 runs in the final over, eventually handing RCB a 7-run victory.

Mohammed Siraj removed Jos Buttler for a duck in the first over, giving Rajasthan Royals a dismal start in their chase of 190. After that, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Devdutt Padikkal worked together to resurrect Rajasthan, scoring 98 runs for the second wicket.

Former RCB batter Padikkal looked sharp as he sped to a stunning fifty before being dismissed by David Willey for 52 (34).

Earlier in the day, Royal Challengers Bangalore raked up 189 for thanks to impact player Faf du Plessis (62) and Glenn Maxwell’s (77) century stand.

Dinesh Karthik (11) was the only other RCB batsman to score in double digits. In the final five overs, the Royals bowlers stood out for their focused attempt to bring things back.
