IPL 2024, MI vs RR: Rajasthan Opt To Bowl As Wounded Mumbai Seek Redemption; Check Playing XIs

Mumbai: Traditional slow starters Mumbai Indians (MI) will be seeking redemption under new skipper Hardik Pandya when they face Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Wankhede Stadium today.

Despite replacing the five-time title-winning Rohit Sharma, Pandya’s leadership hasn’t yet turned the tide, with MI losing their first two matches of the season. Facing a confident Rajasthan Royals, MI will be under pressure to break their losing streak and improve their net run rate, currently the lowest in the league.

Sidelined by injuries, the absence of Suryakumar Yadav adds to MI’s challenges. Despite a favourable head-to-head record against Rajasthan Royals, MI must overcome a resurgent opponent led by Sanju Samson. With Pandya’s captaincy decisions under scrutiny, MI must collectively step up their game.

On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals, buoyed by two consecutive wins, aim to maintain their winning momentum. Samson and Yashasvi Jaiswal lead their batting lineup, complemented by Riyan Parag’s promising form in the middle order. With a strong bowling attack featuring Nandre Burger, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Avesh Khan, Rajasthan poses a formidable challenge for MI.
