GST Officials Carry Out Simultaneous Raids At 5 Locations In Talcher

Talcher: Two businessmen from the Talcher area in the Angul district were raided on Saturday by a 20-person team from the state’s CT & GST and GST departments.

Mahendra Behera and Rajendra Behera are the two businessmen. Sources claim that the raids took place simultaneously at five locations, including their home in Ghantapada and two commercial buildings, Maa Hingula Transport and Maa Hingula Traders.

In the same location, BB Traders was the target of earlier GST raids. Mahendra Behera and Rajendra Behera were investigated by the GST department after their connection to BB Traders was discovered during the raids.

“We went to BB Traders and Om Roadways on April 4. Their connections came to light during the raids, so we had to go back to Talcher. Maa Hingula Transport and Maa Hingula Traders are their two companies. Maa Hingula Traders is their tyre business unit, while Maa Hingula Transport is their transport business,” Biranchi Mahanandia, a City GST officer for the Cuttack Division said.
