Head-On Collision Between Bike & Pick-Up Van Leaves 3 Dead In Angul

Angul: As many as three persons were killed after the bike they were riding on had a head-on collision with a pick-up van on NH-55 near Santarapur under Jarpada police limits in Angul district on Sunday. The identities of the deceased persons are yet to be ascertained.

According to reports, the accident took place this afternoon when the trio was on their way to Jarpada on a bike.

While they were coming towards Santarapur, their vehicle collided with a pick -van coming from the opposite direction. The collision was so intense that two riders died on the spot.

Local people rescued the profusely bleeding third one and rushed him to a nearby government hospital where he succumbed while undergoing treatment, reports added.

After the mishap, the pick-up van driver fled from the spot leaving behind his van at the accident site. Meanwhile, police have launched an investigation into the matter.
