Historic Bali Yatra Extended For One Day

Cuttack: Cuttack Collector Bhawani Shankar Chayani announced today that the annual trade fair, Bali Yatra, has been extended by one day in view of the interest and enthusiasm of the people.

Originally set to end on November 16, the open fair, which began on November 8 in Cuttack, will now end on November 17.

Every year, the Bali Yatra is held in remembrance of Odisha’s rich maritime heritage.

On Monday, the CMC Core Committee meeting was held in the special ‘Cuttak in Cuttack’ gallery inside the Bali Yatra field. This meeting chaired by Mayor Subash Singh was attended by Deputy Mayor Damayanti Majhi, Commissioner Nikhil Pavan Kalyan, all the corporators, various committee members, and officers of the corporation. After discussing various issues, it was decided in the meeting to propose to the state government to extend Bali Yatra by two days.

The extension of the fest may bring a solution to the dissatisfaction of the traders regarding the increase in shop-rental fees this year.
