Jilted Lover Rapes Woman In Cuttack; Held

Cuttack: A man was arrested from the Markatnagar area in Cuttack for allegedly kidnapping and raping a woman for rejecting his marriage proposal.

He, later, blackmailed the woman with an obscene video and forced her to succumb to his desire.

The victim, however, approached the Markatnagar police and narrated her plight. The police registered a case on the basis of the woman’s complaint and arrested Abinash.

According to police, after the marriage of Abinash Mishra to the woman was broken, he abducted her from the street and forcibly took her to a lodge.

There, he allegedly beat up the woman and assaulted her sexually. The accused also recorded a video of their intimate moments.

Later, he forced the woman to marry him saying that a rejection would only result in making the video public. Whether or not the marriage has been solemnized is not confirmed.

Meanwhile, the accused was produced in court and sent to jail custody after his bail plea was rejected.
