Man Stonned To Death Over Past Enmity In Sundargarh

Sundargarh: A man was allegedly crushed to death with stone at Marichidihi village under Mahulapada police station in Sundargarh district over past enmity.

The victim has been identified as Tola Nayak of Marichidihi near Bonai, police said on Saturday.

Police said that Tola Nayak and Babulu Giri of Marichidihi went to a small forest near the village on Saturday evening. They had a verbal dual over some past differences and Babulu attacked Tola with a stone and crushed his head.

Later, the accused hanged Tola’s body from a tree to make it look as if Tola committed suicide and returned home.

Later in the evening, Babulu himself informed the villagers that Tola was found hanging inside the forest. As the villagers were not convinced by Babulu’s story, they smelt foul play and informed the police.

The police said that they have detained Babulu and launched a probe into the incident.
