Class IX Student Found Hanging in School Under Mysterious Circumstances in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj

Mayurbhanj: In a tragic incident in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district, a Class IX student was found hanging in his room at a private boarding school under mysterious circumstances. The student, identified as Biswa Busan Nanda from Raighari village, attended Saraswati High School in Analagunja village.

According to sources, Biswa had dinner with fellow students in the hostel and retired to his room on Thursday night. On Friday morning, some students found him hanging from a ceiling fan in a classroom and promptly alerted the hostel authorities.

Upon arrival, a team from Bangiriposi police station sent the body for post-mortem, initiating an investigation after registering a case. Ashok Kumar Giri, the school’s principal, expressed shock at the incident and informed the block education officer (BEO) and the district education officer (DEO).

Giri stated that Biswa was a normal and disciplined student without any known bad habits. Despite the ongoing investigation, the cause of the suicide remains unclear, as there was reportedly no study pressure on the student. The school community is left in the dark about why Biswa took such a drastic step.
