Odisha: Woman Beats Husband To Death Over Delay in Procuring Chicken, Extramarital Affair Angle Emerges

Mayurbhanj: In a tragic turn of events, a woman and her brother-in-law have been arrested in Udala, Odisha, for allegedly killing the woman’s husband over a heated argument during a village festival. The deceased, identified as Raisen Murmu, was found dead in his Nayarangamatia village home on Tuesday morning.

As per reports, residents of Nayarangamatia were celebrating Jahira puja on Monday night. Raisen, tasked with procuring chicken for the rituals, reportedly returned late. This delay sparked an argument between Raisen and his brother-in-law, Chandramohan Hembram.

According to sources, Raisen’s wife, Pana Murmu, instead of siding with her husband, surprisingly joined Chandramohan in the altercation. The dispute intensified, and in a fit of rage, Pana allegedly attacked Raisen with a wooden plank, inflicting fatal injuries.

Rumours swirled around Pana having an extramarital affair with Chandramohan, potentially influencing her actions during the argument. However, the police are yet to officially confirm these speculations.

Udala police, alerted by concerned villagers, reached the scene promptly and arrested Pana and Chandramohan. Raisen’s body was sent for post-mortem examination, and a case has been registered against the accused.
