Mystery Shrouds After Baranga ASI Found Hanging

Cuttack: A police officer was found dead inside his house in the Padasahi area near Nandankanan in Barang here on Sunday.

The deceased cop, identified as Ashok Pradhan, ASI of Baranga police station.

According to reports, the matter came to light when some locals on Sunday morning barged into his house at Padasahi.

“Since morning we were calling him but there was no response. He returned home last night after the completion of duty. But he was found hanging from the ceiling of his house,” a local said.

Though the exact reason behind his death is yet to be ascertained, it is being suspected that Pradhan might have committed suicide.

On getting the information, police arrived at the spot and brought the body down. Subsequently, it was sent for post-mortem.
