Odisha Govt To Provide Cashless Heat Stroke Treatment For Polling Officials During Twin Polls

Bhubaneswar: The Health and Family Welfare Department of Odisha has extended a helping hand to polling officials by offering cashless treatment for heat stroke during the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.

Commissioner-cum-Secretary Shalini Pandit issued a directive to private hospitals enlisted in the BSKY, urging them to extend cashless treatment to polling officials encountering heat stroke during their election duties. This initiative aims to prioritize the well-being of those involved in the electoral process.

According to the directive, all individuals on election duty can access free treatment by presenting their appointment or engagement order. The state government has asked the private hospitals to immediately treat the affected polling officials.

Private hospitals participating in the scheme are instructed to submit bills offline, following the prescribed BSKY package rates, for reimbursement by the State Health Assurance Society.
