Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik Honours Kishore Jena with ₹50 Lakh Reward for Historic Performance at World Athletics Championship

Bhubaneswar: Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik honoured Kishore Jena with a generous cash award of Rs 50 lakh. This recognition comes in light of Kishore’s exceptional performance in the Javelin throw event at the prestigious World Athletics Championship held in Budapest, Hungary.

Notably, Kishore Jena’s achievement marks a historic milestone as the first Odisha athlete to reach this elite level of competition. At the World Athletics Championships, a groundbreaking moment occurred as three Indian athletes, including Kishore from Odisha, secured their spots in the men’s Javelin final.

In an impressive display of skill and determination, Kishore secured the 5th position in the final with a personal best throw of 84.77 meters. This accomplishment not only brought honour to Odisha but also left a lasting impression on the global athletics community.
