Bhubaneswar: At least 10 people were killed and three others were injured in lightning strikes in six different districts of Odisha on Saturday, the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) office said.
The casualties were distributed across the affected districts as follows: one fatality in Angul, two in Bolangir, one in Boudh, one in Jagatsinghpur, one in Dhenkanal, and four in Khordha. Additionally, three individuals sustained injuries, all of whom were from the Khordha district.

The SRC office said in a statement that the lightning strikes occurred between 11 AM and 6 PM. The victims were mostly working in the fields or were taking shelter under trees when they were struck by lightning.
The SRC office has also advised people to take precautions against lightning strikes, such as staying indoors during thunderstorms and avoiding open spaces.
