Odisha CM Naveen Assesses State’s Winter Preparedness Ahead Of Impending Chills

Bhubaneswar: Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik assessed the state’s preparations for the impending cold snap and instructed the relevant officials to give the recipients of the aid the necessary winter assistance by December.

He also emphasised how crucial it is to protect the vulnerable, especially the elderly, as winter approaches. According to an official release, CM Patnaik instructed to give Rs 300 as winter aid to all the beneficiaries so they can buy blankets by December while assessing the preparations.

The state government has already approved Rs 146 crore for the directives, which are anticipated to benefit nearly 48 lakh beneficiaries of the Madhubabu Pension Yojana and National Pension Yojana (National Social Assistance Programme).

The Chief Minister further ordered that great care be taken to guarantee that no one is left defenceless in the open throughout the winter. He urged the Municipal, District Collector, Urban Development, and Panchayati Raj Departments to act right now.

According to the statement, 855 traveller shelters have already been established in the state. It was also determined at a previous meeting to occasionally use school buildings and panchayat offices as night shelters.
