Konark Temple & Ekamra Kshetra to Undergo Major Development as Odisha Govt Greenlights Projects

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has recently made a significant decision to enhance the development of the Konark temple complex through the Integrated Development of Heritage & Monuments and Tourist Destination Scheme.

The tender for this ambitious project has been approved by the Odisha Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. With a budget of Rs 209.73 crore, the project aims to be completed within a span of 18 months, as announced by Chief Secretary PK Jena.

The primary objective of this initiative is to revitalize and upgrade the physical infrastructure surrounding the magnificent 13th-century marvel, thereby transforming it into a world-class tourist destination.

In a parallel development, the cabinet has also given the green light to the Ekamra Kshetra Amenities and Monuments Revival Plan, which focuses on providing essential amenities to devotees and rejuvenating various ancient monuments in the Old Town area of Bhubaneswar. With a budget allocation of Rs 156.21 crore, the project is slated to be executed within a timeframe of 18 months. Specifically, the plan envisions the development of the surroundings of the 11th-century Lingaraj temple.

To implement both projects, the government has selected M/S BP Construction, a reputable and capable firm. The expertise and resources of M/S BP Construction will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of these transformative endeavours.
