Injured Baba Attacked by Self-Styled Godman in Puri Dies

Puri: In a tragic incident at Gurukrupa Ashram on Lokanath Road, Puri, two babas lost their lives in an alleged attack by another self-styled godman. The deceased baba has been identified as Dayanidhi Das.

The attack occurred on Saturday, when Bishnu Baba, a self-proclaimed godman of the same ashram, assaulted Arjun Das and Dayanidhi Das with a wooden plank. Arjun tragically lost his life on the spot, while a critically injured Dayanidhi was rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, where he later succumbed to his injuries on Sunday.

The accused baba, Bishnu Baba, admitted to the crime, stating that he attacked Arjun Das because of alleged rumours about his involvement in tantra sadhana. He claimed to be engaged in regular sadhana, while his father practised tantra sadhana.

Following the death of Arjun Das, the police promptly detained the accused baba. Preliminary investigations revealed a dispute between the accused and the deceased, and the exact motive is yet to be ascertained.
