Odisha Now Fully Covered By Southwest Monsoon, Heavy Rainfall Warning Issued

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced that the Southwest Monsoon has now covered the entire state of Odisha. However, the IMD has also issued a heavy rainfall warning for several districts in Odisha until at least June 27.

Here is the day-wise forecast for heavy rainfall:

June 23: Heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20cm) is expected at isolated places in Khordha, Puri, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, and Cuttack districts. Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) is likely to occur at isolated places in Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Nayagarh, Boudh, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Malkangiri, Koraput, and Nawarangpur districts.

June 24: Heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20cm) is expected at one or two places in Cuttack, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj districts. Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) is likely to occur at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Khordha, Puri, Nayagarh, Angul, Kandhamal, Boudh, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Deogarh, and Sundargarh districts.

June 25: Heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20cm) is expected at a few places in Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Angul, Boudh, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Bargarh, and Jharsuguda districts. Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) is likely to occur at one or two places in Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Nuapada, and Nayagarh districts.

June 26: Heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20cm) is expected at a few places in Angul, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Boudh, Bargarh, Bolangir, and Kalahandi districts. Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) is likely to occur at one or two places in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nawarangpur, and Nuapada districts.

June 27: Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) is likely to occur at one or two places in Nawarangpur, Nuapada, Bolangir, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, and Keonjhar districts.
