Odisha: 19-Year-Old Girl Ends Life Over Love Affair Woes

Khordha: In a tragic incident in Odisha’s Khordha district, a 19-year-old girl reportedly took her own life by hanging herself following a dispute in her romantic relationship. The deceased, a resident of Sunakhala in Puri district, had been employed as an assistant at a private clinic in Mukundaprasad for the past six months.

Her lifeless body was discovered hanging from a ceiling fan using a dupatta at the healthcare facility in the evening. Clinic authorities notified the police, who arrived at the scene, recovered the body for post-mortem, and initiated an investigation. Staff members were questioned as part of the ongoing probe.

Colleagues of the young woman revealed that she had been expressing sadness on WhatsApp through her recent status updates. Her final post, shared around 6 pm on the tragic day, featured a photo of a crying girl with a caption that read, “I am waiting for my death.”

The prevailing suspicion is that the girl resorted to such a drastic measure due to disruptions or setbacks in her love affair. The police are actively conducting a thorough investigation into the matter.
